“Dedicated to Serving Veterans, Their Families and The Community”
Our Foundation was incorporated in March 2002 under the laws of the State of Ohio as a non-profit organization with the purpose to support and serve, in the Southwest Ohio region, Vietnam veterans, other veterans, their families, various civic and/or charitable causes, educational endeavors, persons in need, and other selected causes or events involving patriotism, service to country or the American way of life.
Volunteer membership in the Foundation is open, at no cost, to anyone who wishes to support its mission and programs. We meet quarterly on the first Wednesday of January, April, July and October.
Since it’s inception the Foundation has accomplished its mission primarily through support of the charitable activities of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 10, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Foundation has also provided direct support to other worthy causes and organizations such as
As part of our mission the Foundation also currently provides civic, charitable and educational programs promoting remembrance of fallen heroes, patriotism, national service, and awareness of sacrifices made by Veterans and their families. For example, each year the Foundation co-sponsors three special community events held on Memorial Day, Veterans Day and National Vietnam War Veterans Day. On Memorial Day and Veterans Day we join Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 10 to conduct ceremonies at the inspiring Vietnam Memorial in Cincinnati’s Eden Park. On national Vietnam Veterans Day (March 29) we co-host an informational tribute Open House luncheon at our joint Foundation and Chapter 10 headquarters. Over many years the Eden Park ceremonies have become revered Cincinnati traditions attended by hundreds of people, and the more recent March 29 Open House is also quickly becoming a notable tradition in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Currently serving on the Foundation’s Board of Trustees are: Joe Amann, Forrest Brandt, Ed Brown, Ron Buchanan, Tom Chenhalls, Pat Cusick, Charlie Doan, Walt Edwards, Dottie Harris, Gary Henson, Mike Hirsch and Robert Spencer. Currently serving as Foundation Board Officers are: President – Charlie Doan, Vice-President – Dottie Harris, Secretary – Ron Buchanan, and Treasurer – Joe Amann.
